Join Providence’s Gallery Night for a unique experience in The Art of the Race Series. Each Gallery Night features works from the Rhode Island School of Design’s Museum Archives with an opportunity to join in a conversation about the intersection of art and race. Art experts, historians and the Center for Reconciliation Staff members share perspectives and ask interesting questions to inspire participants to look more deeply and see more clearly what is being said by these works of art and about the people, places and objects depicted. A rare opportunity to get a “behind the scenes” experience of the RISD museum, see works that, for the most part, have never been exhibited before and engaged in dialogue with an interesting and diverse group of people.
